With freshwater streams and rivers in abundance in the Spey Valley, including the Rivers Spey and Findhorn within easy reach of Strathspey Lodge, there are ample opportunities to indulge in a spot of fishing: the perfect antidote to our usual hectic lifestyles. Fly fishing is particularly popular on the Spey, where salmon swim in abundance, but burbot, eel fish, ghost carp, and ide are all commonly found in the region, too. The Rothiemurchus Estate is a particularly plentiful source, with salmon and sea trout on the Spey and brown trout, rainbow trout, and pike in stocked lochs, where fishing for children is also available.
